H.S. Baseball Program Overview

If your son makes the cuts and plays baseball for his high school, he may also be able to tryout and make the cut to play baseball for American Legion or the St. Louis Amateur Baseball Association (SLABA) in the summer. These are comparable high school baseball organizations, both of which have programs for freshmen baseball (15U) through Senior (18U) every summer. SLABA generally conducts tryouts in the Fall of each year, although opportunities may still be available in the Spring for selected SLABA teams. American Legion tryouts are generally scheduled in late April or early May. The contact person for both of these programs depends on where your son attends high school. Legion and SLABA teams are organized around base public high schools. Check with you local High School.

If your son does not play baseball for his high school or is not picked up by a Legion or SLABA team in the summer, Ballwin Athletic Association has a three-phase HS baseball program which begins in April and ends in October.

Spring High School- For players who do not play for their high school team. Begins in early April (same time as HS baseball) and ends in the middle of May. It consists of 12 games and a league championsip tournament if field time allows due to weather.(2-3 additional games.) Cost is ($150) per player. You may register online starting December 1 at www.baapark.org or wait until March for walk-in registration on 2 Saturdays (posted on our calendar), 12pm-3pm.

Summer High School- Begins June 1 and ends July 31. Most teams are organized when they register. We have 2 pool teams (16U and 18U.) Several teams continue from Spring. 12 games - Cost is ($150) per player. You may register for the draft online starting May 1 or wait until walkin registration in May, 2 Saturdays (posted onour calendar), 12pm-3pm.

Fall High School- Begins middle of August, ends in the beginning of October. 10 games. Most of these teams are recruited and organized when they register. Some continue from summer. Limited individual draft opportunities. Cost is $1000.00 per team. You may register a team online starting July 1.
