High School Baseball Program Overview

American Legion or the St. Louis Amateur Baseball Association (SLABA)  

  • summer only
  • 15U - 18U (Freshman - Seniors)
  • SLABA generally conducts tryouts in the Fall of each year, although opportunities may still be available in the Spring for selected SLABA teams.
  • American Legion tryouts are generally scheduled in late April or early May. 

 

Ballwin Athletic Association High School League

     Spring High School League

  • specifically designed for players not playing for their high school team
  • season is early April thru Mid-May (same as High School Baseball)
  • 12 games and league championship tournament
  • cost is $175 per player
  • registration opens December 1st
  • draft players contacted by managers the last week of March

     Summer High School League

  • June 1 thru July 31
  • most teams are organized when they register
  • some teams continue from Spring
  • 2 pool teams (16U and 18U) are available
  • 12 games
  • Cost is ($160) per player
  • registration opens May 1st 
  • draft players contacted by managers the last week of May


     Fall High School League

  • season is mid-August thru early October
  • 10 games
  • most teams are recruited and organized when they register
  • some teams continue from summer
  • limited individual draft opportunities
  •  Cost is $1000.00 per team
  • teams may register online starting July 1
  • draft players contacted by managers 5-7 days prior to the beginning of the season

Registration Fees

*No work duty or family fee for High School Leagues

Boys Spring         $160 player    Registration opens on-line December 1

Boys Summer      $160 player    Registration opens on-line May 1

Girls Summer       $160 player    Registration opens on-line December 1

Boys Fall              $1000 team    Registration opens on-line July 1

 

 

High School Bat Rule

All bats must comply with the MSHSAA Rules

  • bats not made of a single piece of wood shall meet the Batted Ball Coefficient of Restitution (BBCOR) performance standard
  • bats shall be labeled with a silkscreen or other permanent certification mark
  • no BBCOR label, sticker or decal will be accepted on any non-wood bat
  • the certification mark shall be rectangular, a minimum of one inch on each side and located on the barrel of the bat in any contrasting color to read: "BBCOR .50."
